The Importance of Islamic Education and Role Play by Others People

 In common law or Islamic law indeed, the status of a child who is born to parent who are legally married to one another is called legitimacy. The status will automatically use for child who is born shortly after a parents' marriage ends through divorce. Nowadays, the opposite of legitimacy, or known as wedlock in an increasing trend with 234,674 cases recorded berween year 2006 to 2009[1]. This data is based on statistic done by National Registration Department (NRD). This phenomenan is known as birth out of wedlock. This problem become serious with continuously happen and keep growing in numbers.What our responsibility as a khilafah of Allah to prevent it?

It is the perfect time for us to cultivate back our Islamic education in our lifestyle?

 Firstly as a khilafah, to make sure we accomplish our responsibility, we must take an action that is suitable with our own ability. It has been mentioned by our Prophet Muhammad:

“Whoever of your witnesses the wrong, let him correct it with his hand; and if he cannot, then with his tongue; and if he cannot, let him abhor it in his heart; this reflects the weakest level of Iman”[Sahih Al-Muslim][2]

Based on above hadith,we must make Al-Ma'ruf and Al-Munkar as our priority and our duty as a Muslim. As a result, the illegal problem such as illegal sex and birth of wedlock can be solved. Next, the role plays by government are also important to solve this phenomenon. Based on my opinion, the Minister of Malaysia must make a step to find the way to solve this problem that continuously happens in Malaysia. Government can take an initiative such as launch a programme that act to help young couple or disadvantaged couple. For example, the Government of Kelantan has launched a programme dubbed “Gerbang Az-Ziwaaj”. It objective is to help disadvantaged couples marry.“And do not approach unlawful sexual intercourse. Indeed, it is ever an immorality and is evil as a way. (17:32)[3]”. Thus, this would help to prevent illicit sex and pregnancy out of wedlock that already illegal in our religion. Besides, the Ministry of Education must make a plan on how to solve this problem in term of education field.

Based on my research, I suggest that the Ministry of Education implement the sexual subject that refers to such as reproductive system in school syllabus. This type of syllabus can be move in subject science such as biology. Besides, this information is already being discusses in Al-Quran, that tell us about reproduction, creation of human, family life, menstruation, and even ejaculation.”Then we made the sperm-drop into a clinging clot, and we made the clot into a lump [of flesh], and we made [from] the lump, bones, and we covered the bones with flesh; then we developed him into another creation. So blessed is Allah, the best of creators.”[23:14][4]. 

This verse mentioned about the creation of human, so it is important to cultivate this knowledge that already been told by Allah in Al-Quran. Besides that, moral and civic education or Islamic education must be show to our new generation. Influence their mind with the beauty of our Islamic culture and Eastern culture. This will prevent our new leaf not being influence by media or other sources that bring a negative culture to our country. Thus, it brought us to the solution of pregnancy of wedlock and illegal sex. Next, parents must become a role model to their own child. Parents should cultivate their child with Islamic values since at the young age. This will make things easier because a toddler is easier to absorb the information than an adults. Besides, the process is not a one day process. Time is needed to build the character of a person. It is already said by our Prophet Muhammad, “That every human is born a nature believe in Islam and it is the parents who make the child Christian, Jewish or Mazdaist.”[Al-Bukhari][5]. As a parents, they should take this seriously in order to make their child become a succesful Muslim.

 Another option on how to solved this phenomenan is by Islamic education. One of way is by fasting. As we know fasting is one of the pillars of Islam. It is define as the Ibadah or ritual involves abstaining from food, drink, sexual act, certain other activities from dawn until sunset with intention to perform Ibadah. Allah said, “O ye who belive! Fasting is prescribed to you to those before you, that ye may(learn) self-restraint,” (2:183)[6]. Fasting is a self-purification Ibadah and it give many positive feedback in pysically, spritually, morally, externally and internally. It also make a costant remainder that he is servant of Allah. This consequence make every moment of his life must be dedicated to adoring and obeying Him. Thus, make his faith grow more stronger. Futhermore, having fully aware of the meaning during the fasting can arise the fear of Allah. The consequences that he will feel ashamed to break Allah's commandment. Finally,the person will not involves in illegal sex and the birth of wedlock can be stopped. Next is Al-Aqidah. Al-Alqidah which literally mean to bind, to knot and technically know a firm conviction of one's heart upon the devine truth. The question is how can Al-Aqidah can make an impact in order to solve this problem? When a person have a strong Al-Aqidah, it is correct the deeds and will become righteous. This will directs the Muslim to do the righteous deeds. It directs him towards goodness and praiseworthy actions. This will built upon knowledge and certainty of faith of Allah. Allah said: “Let there be no compulsion in religion: Truth stands out clear from Error: whoever rejects Evil and believes in Allah hath grasped the most trustworthy hand-hold, that never breaks. And Allah heareth and knoweth all things. (2:256)[7]. This showed that Al-Aqidah will make one's heart become firm creed and fixed upon without any wavering or doubt about the Greatness and Powerfull of Allah. Thus, it make a person afraid to break Allah's rule by doing illegal thing like illicit sex. As the result, all the illegal thing will not happen.

 As the conclusion, all peoples must play their role to make a big impact to solved the birth out of wedlock. As long as all of them take part and cooperate with each other, all problems can be solved. Furthermore, nothing problem cannot be solved and have their own solution. Besides, Islamic education is the key to solve this problem. Every Muslims must realize that Islam is our fit rah and it protect us from any Evil deed. O dear Muslim, if there are two things you need to preserve, it is what you utter and where your desires lead. So, think before you speak and think before you act. Prophet Muhammad said “Whoever can guarantee (the chastity of) what is between his two jaw-bone and what is between his two legs(his tongue and his private parts), I guarantee paradise for him” [Al-Bukhari][8]. At last but not least, we must become a good Muslim in order to reach our ultimate goal, attain Allah's love, pleasure and blessing.
