MANAGEMENT OF AVIATION TRAINING SCHOOL
Aviation Training
School is dedicated to the training and
continued education of professional aviation ground support personnel. Aviation
Training School works as chose
the desired curriculum leading to certification, designate a training manager, input student information, training manager assigns courses to students’,
students complete online coursework and practical component, training manager signs off and certificate is
issued.
Aircraft aviation or maintenance school is a place where all basic
aircraft maintenance knowledge and skills training are delivered to those who
want to become a License Aircraft Maintenance Engineer or Technician. Such training school
provides the industry with
comprehensive and standardized training and continued education of
professional aviation ground support personnel.
One of the most demanding career in
aviation industry are the Aircraft Maintenance Engineer and Technician. Aircraft maintenance engineering is where your job is
maintenance, servicing and certifying an aircraft if the aircraft is safe to
take off. There are also many categories of engineers such as for piston engine
and turbine for helicopter and aircraft and one should choose your category of
interest.
The main differences will be the scope of subjects or coursewares. An
aircraft maintenance engineer for example requires all the necessary approval
from Department Of Civil Aviation ( DCAM ) in order to do maintenance works on
aircraft. However, topics include the role of
the any careers involving aviation industry as being responsible for aviation
safety and airworthiness. Courses cover all aspects of aircraft maintenance for
both fixed wing and rotary wing aircraft and include safety practices, ground
handling, inspection techniques, power plant, structural repair, aircraft
systems, and avionics including general aviation, corporate,
charter, transport category aircraft, and helicopters.
Department of Civil Aviation Malaysia
( DCAM ) - The DCAM is established as an agency under the Ministry of Transport
(MOT) Malaysia whose provide safe, efficient and orderly flow of air
transportation, and to regulate aviation activities in Malaysia. The rapid
expansion of Malaysia’s aviation and air transport industries is largely due to
the pragmatic approach taken by DCA in ensuring compliance to standards and
recommended practices of the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO).
The importance of aircraft maintenance
cannot be denied. Aircraft technicians are the highly skilled, detail oriented
individuals who keep the airways safe and the planes flying. For every one
hundred hours that an aircraf[1] is
used for hire, it must go through a thorough aircraft maintenance and
inspection process. This aviation maintenance combined with annual inspections
and routine airplane maintenance repairs creates a tremendous need for
qualified licensed aviation mechanics in Malaysia.[2]
Training in airplane mechanic school
not only prepares you for a career as an aircraft mechanic / engineer or
technician, it can provide you with a versatile skill set that is desired in
other industries, such as automotive and diesel, boat and auto racing, heavy
equipment, power and light, and industrial technology.
"Academic qualifications"
would be the university/college degree an employer, publisher, etc. might
require before they would consider a person for... whatever it is they're
looking for. Examples: If you apply for a job with a law firm, you must have a
law degree from an accredited law school in the same country. Some academic
qualifications are also professional qualifications, e.g. MD, JD, MDiv, MEd.
They are degrees which qualify you for admission to a particular profession,
e.g. medicine, law.
But some professional qualifications ( for example in
the UK at least) are not considered to be academic qualifications. They often
lack the breadth and depth of a degree and concentrate on specific knowledge
and/or expertise needed to do a certain job. In the UK these would include
accountancy qualifications and certificates in office practice or basic
business.
In the UK professional qualifications sometimes require the applicant to have a relevant degree before they can take the professional examinations. This applies to professions such as engineering. Thus, a person may take a BSc(Eng) or a BEng (bachelor of science in engineering or bachelor of engineering) and then apply to be a MICE - Member of the Institute of Civil Engineers (their professional qualification).
"Professional qualification" might be actual experience with the task at hand, with or without the academic qualifications. If you have cared for the ill in a makeshift hospital and done so well that you came to supervise others, you have hands-on nursing experience, even if you do not have an R.N. or other nursing degree. Therefore, in order to achieve Aircraft Maintenance Engineer or Technician LICENCE, one must complete these professional qualification in any certificated aviation training schools available all over the world and sit and pass DCA's Air Legislation examination, Module 10. Examples of the greatest aviation training school in Malaysia is Malaysia Airlines Engineering Training Centre ( METC ) or Malaysia Aviation Training Academy ( MATA )

Not all certifications that use post-nominal letters are an acknowledgement of educational
achievement, or an agency appointed to safeguard the public interest. As part of the course, student/traineess will also
undergo guaranteed industrial attachment with a list of renown partners such as
AirAsia X Sdn Bhd, Berjaya Air Sdn Bhd, Eurocopter Malaysia Sdn Bhd, KL Airport
Services Sdn Bhd, MAS WINGS – owned by Malaysia Airlines, KLM Royal Dutch
Airlines, Sepang Aircraft Engineering, Firefly Sdn. Bhd, Weststar Aviation
Services Sdn. Bhd and many more.
Aircraft
Maintenance Engineering Technicians with Malaysian certification are in big
demand across South East to certify aircraft from countries overseas. Both engineers and technicians are currently
in high demand. The occupational groups with the greatest anticipated demand
are (AME) M - Aircraft Maintenance Engineers and unlicensed technicians on the same training path, (AME) S - Aircraft
Structures Engineers and unlicensed structural repair technicians, (AME) E -
Avionics Maintenance Engineers and unlicensed avionics technicians, Gas Turbine
Engine Repair Technicians, Structures Manufacturing Technicians, Aviation
Machinists, Helicopter Dynamic Component Technicians.
Other terms or name for someone who works as
aircraft maintenance engineer are aircraft mechanics, aircraft inspectors,
maintenance engineers have their own task or duties that are to Maintain,
Repair, Overhaul ( MRO ), modify and test aircraft structures, mechanical and
hydraulic systems, install or modify aircraft engines, mechanical, hydraulic,
flight control, fuel, and pneumatic systems, order and maintain inventory of
parts and supplies, lastly aircraft inspectors inspect structural and
mechanical systems of aircraft and ensure that these systems meet DCAM approval
and company standards of performance and safety.
Different to
people with aircraft instrument electrical and avionics mechanics qualification
in their syllabus. Their works are more to test aircraft wiring, control
circuitry, predict and prevent cyclical circuit problems, [3]read
and cross-reference extensive maintenance logs kept for the aircraft to predict
and prevent cyclical circuit problems, review weekly accident and maintenance
bulletins containing new information from the global maintenance community,
conduct impartial and fair random checks on maintenance work to ensure quality
and accuracy, and finally upgrade and patch the programmed control routines of
digitized electrical and electronic control systems.
Pay for aircraft maintenance engineers/technicians
varies depending on experience and level of responsibility. Non-qualified and
apprentice engineers earn between $28,000 and $40,000 a year. Those with three
to four years' experience earn between $40,000 and $60,000. Senior staff with
six years' experience or more earn between $60,000 and $80,000. Senior staff in
supervisory or managerial roles earn between $70,000 and $130,000. However, the average annual income for this career is
between $55,000 and $65,000 a year. Mechanics who work on jets usually earn
more than those specializing in other kinds of aircraft. Also, airlines
generally pay more than other employers.
Full-time mechanics usually receive benefits such as
dental coverage, paid sick days and vacation, and pension plans. Airline
mechanics may also get a bonus in the form of reduced airfares for them and
their immediate families. This is named ‘Flight Benefits’. This is also a
highly rewarding field to be in. A person is essentially going to be
responsible for aircraft worth hundreds of millions of dollars and whether or
not it leaves the ground. Most importantly, it is about the safety of the
persons who will be on the flight. It can be a very lucrative career. Having a
degree will certainly help a person better perform the job and ensure upwards mobility.
In some countries, both
aircraft maintenance engineer and technician are demanded with different titles
but the same job, but in the USA, an Engineer is a college graduate who works
mostly at a desk to design and develop mechanical systems, while an aircraft maintenance
engineer and technician both is the person who actually works on the airplane
to maintain and to repair the airplane. Also
in the USA, an aircraft maintenance technician is more commonly known as an
aircraft mechanic. Aircraft maintenance technician, as used in the United
States, refers to an individual who holds a mechanic certificate issued by the
Federal Aviation Administration; the rules for certification, and for
certificate-holders, are detailed in Subpart D of Part 65 of the Federal
Aviation Regulations (FAR's), which are part of Title 14 of the Code of Federal
Regulations.
Someone that are in this aviation
industry must have specific, certain and particular knowledge about the field
they are in. Aircraft
maintenance engineers for example need to have knowledge of aircraft
electronic, mechanical or structural systems and equipment, an understanding of
how aircraft fly (aerodynamics) and how different materials react during
flight, an understanding of the maintenance requirements of the aircraft they
are servicing, knowledge of approved repair techniques and procedures,
knowledge of safe work practices and aeronautical safety rules, regulations and
methods. This is where aviation training schools do the function in order to
achieve more and greater stable and exclusive aviation industry in Malaysia.
The
reason I personally chose this topics are because I for one, will defend that
this is the greatest job in the world. I have always loved airplanes and
believe that this was my "calling." What other job can you, if you
want, hop on a plane tomorrow and go to London, Paris or anywhere in the world
at the drop of a hat. There are a number of reasons to choose why careers in
aviation industry become a demand such as aviation industry decent wage, the
opportunity to see the world, a volitile but very friendly industry, everyday
is different – if you don't like looking at the same four walls daily, a pure
love of flight, of course the flight benefits and last but not least, flexibility
in working hours (daytrades, etc)[4]
Furthermore, history has
proven that Islamic civilisation gave priceless contribution to the world
civilisation. Islamic civilisation has produced many great scholars in numerous
fields such as
philosophy, science, politics, literature, social sciences, religious studies
and medicine. A Muslim scholar, Ibn Firnas, proved that human can fly in the
air by inventing bird-like wings that can support the weight of human body mid-air.
Observation on the characteristics
and anatomy of a bird gave inspiration to man on how to build a flying device
that includes the wings structure, the body frame and the tail. The manner in
which a bird flies does not become a reference point for Ibn Firnas only, but
it also has become an
inspiration for today’s modern aviation industry.
However, the objective of their study on birds at
that time was not to invent a flying device but rather to uncover the secrets
of Allah’s (s.w.t.) creation as mentioned in The Holy Qur’an, verse 19 of Surah al-Mulk: “Do they not
observe the birds above them, spreading out their wings and folding them in?
None upholds them except Allah the Most Gracious. Truly (Allah) Most Gracious:
Truly it is He that watches over all things”. The above verse
calls upon men to observe the
creation of birds so that they
can learn from it and appreciate
the greatness of the Creator.
It has been many years ago when jemaah Hajj not only from Malaysia, but
every single country will gather at various ports in order for them to sail
crossing the oceans. And it does take some time to reach their destination, specially
Mecca and Medina. Therefore nowadays,
many have opted in flying to Mecca or anywhere between the world instead of the
sailing option. This has reduced many days of travelling time. So, it is a
Fardhu Kifayah for our Muslim brothers and sisters to learn to make sure the
aircraft is safe to fly.
This sentence gave an explanation why aviation industry is so important
and why the peoples involved in aviation field gave such important role in it. Observing the surrounding environment with the
right mind will lead to one’s passion in the quest of knowledge. For instance, the understanding of bird’s anatomy and its movement will open up new
knowledge such as that of air composition, climatic influence, use of
light alloys for the aviation industry and scientific calculation required to create thrust and lift for an aircraft. Such philosophy and spirits were internalised by
Ibn Firnas. To him, understanding the law of nature through appreciation of the
content of the Holy Qur’an can bring human beings closer to their Creator.
This is another reason why I chose this magical topic, because it
discovers how wonderful the Creation of Allah (s.w.t). The
history of aviation and even man’s effort for space travel is rooted in a great
Muslim scholar’s pioneer effort, ‘Abbas Ibn Firnas has open up my mind.
His achievement in flying has given inspiration to the West to develop the
aviation discipline, especially on the structure of the main structure
for stability of aircrafts. Although the invention of Ibn Firnas seems humble,
it is proven to have influenced today’s modern aviation technique.
Unequivocally, he should be considered and conferred as ‘the father of the
aviation field of the world.[5]
