LEVELS OF GUIDANCE

Levels of guidance

In muslim, the Hidayah means guidance and advice. The name Hidayah also originated as a muslims name. The word Hidayah is derived from the Arabic verb ‘hada’ means to guide and show the ways to people. Allah s.w.t as mention in Al-Quran about firawn who was assert and insist to their wellbeing. [1]Surah Al Ghafir 40:29.

Long ago, more than 3000 years ago, there was a famine in the land of Egypt. The crops would not grow and the people were starving. The famine spread to the nearby land of Israel. After some things improved, rains come, and the people in Egypt and Israel were able to get food. On the other hand, Guidance is a way of God to show the ways to the people. Most of human activities in this life needs of human necessity of this like food, cloth and shelter. Egypt, still famous as the land of the land of the pyramids has its history back more than 3000 years before the birth of Christ. For a very long time its people were pagans, they bowing to idols and practising magic. They worshipped their king as if they were God.[2] They know nothing true source of power until Prophets Musa come and tell them. While the secondary need of human nature is desires to fulfil the requirements of his self-esteem such as appreciation recognition, acknowledgements, wealth and so. On the other hand, we know hardly about Muhammad s.a.w, is an orphan childhood. In the hadith literature, Muhammad and his family did all they could to help these people, giving them clothes and sharing food with them.

Guidance of feeling and senses help us in controlling ourselves when we are responsible to the urge and the pressure of human nature. For instant, a student who is worried about his study or very concern to excel, though it is a positive and good to have the spirit, Therefore, in exerting his effort to excel, for example, he should go to the bed if feeling sleepy. Do you still remember the story about the birth of Musa?[3] One day a soothsayer in firawn’s court told him that a boy would be born among the Children of Israel who will destroy him and his kingdom. As Musa mother worried about this one day, something unusual happened. She was told by Allah that this was a very a special child, and that one day he will become a great prophet. Allah inspired Yukabid to put her little baby into a box and cast it into the river Nile. Allah promised her that Musa would be safe and would soon be returned to her. In Koran 26:193 this messenger is described as the Faithful Spirit.

For guidance of intellect, an important element all the accounts of the first revelation are the pain and anxiety that it induced.[4] The story about Muhammad hurried home to Khadijah feeling strangely cold and utterly drained. She covered him a blanket until the terror had passed, and she gave him the most valuable support he could have hoped for-her believe in his mission. Secondly, the queen of pharaoh was a kind-hearted and loving women. When the box open and she saw a little soul there, she pleaded with her husband to keep the baby boy. Guidance of intellect shows which we refers to our wisdom in determining the status of what we are doing. When Musa grow up, he travelling slowly towards Mount Sinai , they passed through an awesome landscape of desert and rock. After stumbling and groping in the darkness, Musa come to the place where he had seen the source of light, a tree which seemed to be burning.

For guidance of religion, this is the highest levels, because it is coming in the form of direct and specific injunction and provinsion Al-Quran and As-Sunnah. For Musa a.s, Firawn and his men had been defeat and put to shame before hundreds of thousands of ordinary people. The magicians threw down their magic ropes and sticks. As the snakes seemed to coil and uncoil around him, Musa began to lose his nerve. Then, Musa threw down the stick, then become a big snake and eat all the magicians’ snakes. It was a real snake and only Allah can help produced it. In history, The Children of Israel were trapped between the sea and the onrushing soldiers of firawn. They were saved by miracle of Allah located at Reed a Sea. In guidance of religion, Qarun ,who is refused to gives the zakat .But as Prophets Muhammad has told us, one day fine Allah made the earth open and engulf Qarun and his palace, as if he had never existed at all. Therefore , in cases and matters which Allah s.w.t knows that its beyond the capabilities of human being to understand.

Conclusion is guidance comes from Allah. As being weak, we must draw closer to God and take lessons from the stories of role models. We should remember how great the helf Allah to His servants who obeys humans. There has a story of Moses with his people rescued from cruelty pharaoh who pursued them in the sea, Reed. Remember O man,let us all learn from these historical stories that can improved ourselves to becomes an excellent human world and the hereafter. Allah says in Surah Al Araf:178,’’ whom Allah guides, who only on the right path.’’Therefore, no matter how brilliant or power we are as human, we need all the four level of guidance.
